On Tuesday, July 28th, Jeffrey, an SD Media Pros member, joined us via Zoom to share his insights on production BC, DC and PC ... that’s before COVID-19, during COVID and post COVID. Weekend Explorer airs on PBS and broadcasters worldwide, and Jeffrey has traveled the world telling the stories of people and locations. Jeffrey talked about the minimal equipment he takes on the road, how it has changed over the years, how he finds sponsors, and what he has learned about storytelling and pivoting in the COVID era of production.

PRESENTER BIO
Jeffrey Lehmann hosts and producesWeekend Explorer, a multi-Emmy and multi-Telly-winning travel series that is provided free to PBS stations nationwide, airs on 27 Cox stations across the US, and on broadcast networks around the world.
Jeffrey also hosted and produced Maritime Silk Road -- Birth of the Global Economy, a historical documentary series. The series was awarded "Documentary Series of the Year” at the Guangzhou International Film Festival as well as Tellys for Writing and Cultural Documentary in 2017.
In 2019, he hosted and produced China’s Big Bay - From “Made in” to ‘Invented by," a documentary series on modern China with an award-winning animated open.
He has produced sample shorts for a new diving series, Diving Explorer, and a kids series, Explorer Kids.
He has also produced two pilots for a travel series in Mandarin called East Meets West Adventure. In all, he has produced more than 100 full-length episodes that have been broadcast.
