San Diego Media Pros would like to acknowledge the on-set incident in Santa Fe on October 21, 2021. We intend to dedicate a meeting in 2022 to on-set safety and welcome your input on what we include.
For our October event, please know that any use of the term “horror stories” is meant as a figure of speech and we intend for the meeting to be about sharing real-life surprises that happen during production, how we can learn from them, and how solid pre-production and on-set best practices lead to a positive and safe working environment for all media professionals.
Thank you for joining us around the San Diego Media Pros “campfire” as we shared the surprising things that have happened at work, on location, at just about any place the gremlins of production come to play.
Whether it’s the sprinklers that turned on in the middle of your multi-camera, overnight shoot on the baseball field, the wind storm that took your 12’x12’ and sent it sailing, or the extremely “well behaved” kids, dogs or elephants that the director or client wanted, we all have a production story that starts with words like “you’ll never believe what happened on set.”
So think through your years in production of corporate events, of the trials of travel, of just the ordinary day at your “on set” office, when suddenly the team had to think on its feet, solve the problem and keep going to make the day. Not only do we want to know what happened, we want to know how you made it through, so we can all share your angst, laugh and learn.
