Branding and Marketing for Freelancers and Media Businesses
If someone is looking for a media professional with your skill set, can they find you? This someone may be a national entity, like a Netflix production or a network news organization, or a biotech or medical corporation, or commercial production company based in Los Angeles or in San Diego county.
It’s someone who you want looking to hire you. When they do find you, is your website, your search engine presence, your LinkedIn and your social media sending the right message: that you are an experienced professional ready to work on their project?
San Diego Media Pros looks into how to “Embrace Your Narrative: Telling a Better Story to Get More Business” at our next educational event on Wednesday, March 27, 2024. Whether you are an audio engineer, DP, writer, podcast producer, grip, script supervisor, production assistant, actor - you need to let people know you exist. Join us from 5:30pm to 8:00pm at Influence Studios on Miramar Road, where our speakers are going to take a close look at how you can build your professional brand and then market it well to the right people.
We’ll talk about:
Search engines: When someone googles your name, what do they see? In a 10 second glance, is it what you want them to learn about you? If yes, how can you make it stronger yet? If no, how do you change what’s there?
Website: Yes, everyone needs one. What’s new in SEO that will get your website found? What should your website include to get you noticed? How do you get past not knowing where to start fresh or with a refresh?
Social media: It’s constantly changing. What do you post and how do you keep up? When you’re busy at the office or on set all day, how do you feed the machine that keeps you visible and builds your credibility?
We have two speakers lined up. DJ Summitt, of Summitt FilmWorks will speak to the “why.” Why does all this matter? DJ has a way of motivating that will get you thinking that yes! You will plan to spend time on building your brand and your business. Jeff Fox of Star Fox Media and Princebury Productions & Media will speak to the “how.” What exactly do you need to do to Embrace Your Narrative.
