LED walls are becoming an option even for small productions. Your talent can be in the active streets of London, sitting in the botanical gardens of San Francisco, or in an imaginary world such as that of The Mandalorian. LED walls are also one of the best new ways to film actors who appear to be in moving cars. On Wednesday, May 26, 2021, SDMP takes a closer look at virtual production and how LED walls allow you to expand your shooting locations.

Are you looking to upgrade your filming space? How about a virtual set for your small or home studio? A 12x10’ LED wall powered by a high-end gaming computer will fit easily into most small or home studios. Add visuals of anything you can play on a screen and you have content for a virtual production.

Our speaker, Noah Kadner is a virtual production editor and AR/XR specialist, offering workflow and integration services for clients that include Apple, the United Nations, Sony, Panasonic, and Epic Games.

Noah is not only an expert in virtual reality but also a co-founder and writer, with extensive production and post-production experience in film, broadcast, and streaming services. He has interviewed filmmakers like J.J. Abrams, edits industry magazines, and writes for thought leaders that impact our daily productions. Missing Noah's conversation with SDMP is like going Back To The Future.

    Here’s what we’ll cover at May’s meeting:

    • Noah will give a brief history of virtual production -- then and now -- with clips of how filmmakers like Alfred Hitchcock did it.

    • He’ll then switch over to a demo of his 12x10 foot LED home studio setup, powered by a high- end gaming computer.

    • Noah will talk about pricing expectations and the gear you may need to create a small studio setup.

    • And, most importantly, he will answer your questions about this technology for your upcoming shoots.

Join us for our SDMP meeting in May as Noah Kadner talks with us about this technology that is increasingly accessible for your production!
